New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has announced a busy home season for the 2024-25 period, featuring tours from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and Australia alongside the previously confirmed three-Test series against England.
England lead the way
The men’s season kicks off with the prestigious three-Test series against England, scheduled for November and December 2024.
This series will mark the culmination of a demanding stretch for the Black Caps, who will play nine Tests between September and December, including away tours to Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and India.

Sri Lanka add spice
Following the England series, New Zealand will host Sri Lanka for white-ball matches in late December and mid-January. This will be followed by a crucial trip to Pakistan for an ODI tri-series in February, serving as a warm-up for the ICC Champions Trophy.
Pakistan Tour to New Zealand clash with IPL 2025
The marquee event of the season could see a scheduling conflict for New Zealand. They are slated to host Pakistan for a five-match T20I series and three ODIs in late March and early April, which might overlap with the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL 2025).
New Zealand women’s schedule
The New Zealand women’s team will also be in action, with a three-match ODI series against Australia scheduled for December, shortly before Christmas. Their Trans-Tasman rivals will return in March for a three-match T20I series. Sri Lanka’s women will also tour New Zealand in March, playing a six-match white-ball series.
Double-headers for fans
Cricket fans in New Zealand are in for a treat, with five of the women’s T20Is being played as double-headers with the men’s T20I series against Pakistan.
This packed schedule promises an exciting cricket season for New Zealand fans, with a mix of Test matches, white-ball contests, and trans-Tasman rivalries.
