The uncertainty around India to travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025 is making rounds for many months now. However, in what has come as a major development, it looks like the other way around won’t be a problem. Pakistan are set to travel India, who are the host of Asia Cup 2025.
India to host Asia Cup 2025
Pakistan, who visited India last year for the ODI World Cup, have to plan another tour to their neighboring nation as the Men in Blue are set to host Men’s Asia Cup in 2025. According to the Asia Cricket Council’s (ACC) Invitation for Expressions of Interest for sponsorship document, it will be a T20I format tournament, with six teams locking horns.
Moreover, the next edition, i.e., in 2026 will be hosted by Bangladesh. However, the Asia Cup 2026 competition will be played in 50-over format. The reason is simple, there is a T20 World Cup in 2026 and an ODI World Cup in 2027.
A packed schedule for India
While the entire schedule is yet to be decided, the tournament could take place in September. This further stacks an already packed 2025 for India, who will start the year by hosting England for a multi-format white-ball series. Then will come the Champions Trophy and India are not likely to visit the designated hosts Pakistan. After two-month long IPL 2025, two tours to England and Bangladesh is scheduled. After that, the marquee Asia cup might take place.
The year 2026 will not see a men’s Asian tournament; instead, the women’s Asia Cup in T20 format will take place, followed by the men’s U-19 and Emerging Teams Asia Cup.
