Earlier, reports stated at Waqar Younis was all set to join the side as an advisor in August. The formation of this new board is a part of the PCB’s efforts to reform cricket as they are dealing with multiple issues including failures in World Cups, disciplinary issues and allegations of favouritism in selection.
“I am bringing in former stars to vet and improve the cricket system and end this culture of personal likes and dislikes,” PCB chief Moshin Naqvi said on Monday.

The shakeup in PCB continues after Pakistan’s poor performance in the recently concluded ICC T20 World Cup. Previously, both Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq were removed from their posts as selectors after numerous controversies arose regarding the team selection.
