Pakistan skipper rubbishes Naseem Shah’s concerns with  ‘no communication gap’ with new coaches remark

Pakistan Test skipper Shan Masood said that there was no communication gap with the new coaches, countering Naseem Shah's claims

Pakistan Test team captain Shan Masood countered pacer Naseem Shah over the latter’s concerns of language barrier between the coaches and the players. Naseem had said that the players found it difficult to communicate with the foreign coaches – Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillespie – noting that the unfamiliarity with the local language was a hinderance.

Masood rubbished the pacer’s claims and said that there was no communication gap between the coaches and the players.

Pakistan skipper contradicts Naseem Shah’s claims

Speaking to reporters ahead of PAK vs BAN series, Masood said that Pakistan has worked with foreign coaches previously as well. He cited the tenure of Mickey Arthur to justify his claim. Masood further argued that the team’s support staff also came from other countries and backed his players to have picked up languages while playing in various leagues across the world.

I think now there is no communication gap. All of us have spent a lot of time in different dressing rooms. Foreign coaches have come before in Mickey’s time. Mickey has come twice. Different assistant foreign coaches have come,” Masood said.

What Naseem Shah had said

There is a language problem with foreign coaches. We need someone to translate the language. It is easier to communicate with the coach in your own language,” Naseem was quoted as saying by the Cricket Pakistan.
