PAK Playing XI: Despite losing Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Wasim Jr to injuries, captain Babar Azam will fancy his chances against India when the two teams clash on Sunday. Pakistan had defeated the Men in Blue in Dubai 11 months earlier and despite a whole new look to his team, Azam will be confident of his team delivering the goods.
Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, architects of the 10-wicket win last year, will once again open the innings for Pakistan with hard-hitting Fakhar Zaman dropping to No.3. Old guards Shoaib Malik and Mohammed Hafeez who featured in the T20 WC clash, have been swiftly replaced with Iftikhar Ahmed and Khushdil Shah.
Asif Ali, who rose to prominence as a finisher during Pakistan’s run to the semi-finals continues to a force for Babar Azam, while vice-captain Shadab Khan makes it a batting-heavy top 7. Mohammad Nawaz will double up as a handy batting option at No.8 along with his left-arm spin.

The cause of concern for Babar Azam was his pace department with Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Wasim Jr missing. While Mohammed Hasnain has joined up with the squad and began training, Hasan Ali will join up with the team only a day before the game with limited practice.
Haris Rauf will lead the attack with Naseem Shah making his debut in the shortest format of the game. The 19-year-old impressed on the tour of the Netherlands and his ability to generate movement will be crucial in the powerplay. Shahnawaz Dahani pipped Hasan Ali and Mohammad Hasnain for the third seamer slot.
Probable Pakistan Playing XI: 1. Babar Azam, 2. Mohammad Rizwan, 3. Fakhar Zaman, 4. Iftikhar Ahmed, 5. Asif Ali, 6. Khushdil Shah, 7. Shadab Khan, 8. Mohammad Nawaz, 9. Shahnawaz Dahani / Hasan Ali , 10. Haris Rauf, 11. Naseem Shah
