Win T20 World Cup, earn Rs 83 Lakh each, Pakistan cricket chairman promises to Babar Azam & Co

Pakistan's squad for the T20 World Cup is yet to be released. Due to multiple injuries, the PCB has decided to wait until the ICC deadline (May 25) to name their team for the event.

If the Pakistan cricket team weren’t already motivated to bring the trophy home, their chairman has promised each member of the squad that they’ll receive a $100,000 (INR 83 lakh) reward if they win the T20 World Cup 2024. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has yet to announce their squad, but the team will more or less be similar to their squad against New Zealand last month.

PCB gives ‘extra motivation’ to Babar Azam & Co

Earlier today (May 5), PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi met with the Pakistan team as they attended their national camp at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. PCB’s media account also shared the video where Naqvi was seen talking with the players and even awarded Naseem Shah (100 T20 wickets) and Mohammad Rizwan (3000 T20I runs) with special jerseys for achieving new milestones.

Naqvi talked with the player for two hours and encouraged them, as he advised them to “play without any pressure and compete vigorously.”

“Don’t care about anyone. Only play for Pakistan. Demonstrate teamwork on the field; God willing, victory will be yours. The country has a lot of expectations from you. You have to fulfill them,” he told the players.
