Pakistan Cricket Board has named Aaqib Javed as the side’s interim white-ball coach. The former Pakistan cricketer will replace Gary Kirsten, who resigned last month. While red-ball coach Jason Gillespie was named as the stand-in coach for the series against Australia, he will now return to his original role.

It is pertinent to point out that Pakistan are yet to find a full-time white ball coach, with just months left for Champions Trophy 2025. The PCB has informed that it will initiate the process to find a full-time coach and hopes to find a suitable candidate before the marquee tournament.
“During this tenure, Aqib will continue to serve as a senior member of the men’s National Selection Committee, and will be assigned additional responsibilities following the conclusion of the eight-team tournament,” the PCB said.
