In the latest roadblock for Pakistan, Shan Masood and co will have to go into the Test series against Australia without a team doctor. Pakistan’s tragedy with inadequate staff just continues, with the unavailability of the doctor coming to light, weeks after the team had to board their own luggage.
PAK to start AUS series sans team doctor
As per PTI, official team doctor Sohail Saleem is yet to join the team. He was named the doctor for the side’s series against Australia and New Zealand.
“The Pakistan Cricket Board is still trying to get a visa for Dr Saleem and as soon as it comes he will join the side in Australia in time for the first Test in Perth,” a reliable source in the PCB said, as per news agency PTI.
The source further added that Abrar Ahmed’s replacement off-spinner Sajid Khan was also yet to join the team in Down Under owing to visa issues.
Pakistan players load own luggage on arrival in AUS
A video of the Pakistani players carrying their belongings into the back of a truck surfaced online, as soon as the side landed in Australia. However, In the absence of officials from the Pakistan Embassy or Cricket Australia, the squad players had to look after their own luggage. Meanwhile, the tour includes three Tests in Perth (December 14-18), Melbourne (December 26-30), and Sydney (January 3-7).
