Pakistan doomed? Fans speculate team’s exit from T20 World Cup after Florida flash flood emergency

One of the teams that will be highly hit from the floods in Florida amid the T20 World Cup 2024 will be Pakistan

It looks like Pakistan’s chances of making it to the Super 8 stage might be in jeopardy after the flash flood warning issued in the state of Florida. Pakistan will take on Ireland at Lauderhill in their final game of the group stage of T20 World Cup. Pakistan’s chances of making it to the Super 8 stage will look bleaker if the game in Florida gets washed out.

Pakistan to exit T20 WC due to nature’s fury?

The next set of Group A matches take place in Lauderhill, Florida, in the next three days, which is just 30 miles away from Miami, and obviously those matches will be affected as well.

One of the teams that will be highly hit from the floods in Florida will be, Pakistan. Let’s assume all the three matches are washed out, then in that case India and USA go through to Super 8, and Babar Azam & Co. miss out. If the USA-IRE match is washed out, then USA will be on 5 points, and then Pakistan will be out, even if they win their last match.

Let’s assume, if PAK vs IRE match is not possible, then of course Pakistan will be out. In ideal scenario, Pakistan would want Ireland to win, and post a win in their match too. So, it’s difficult.

Can PAK make it to Super 8?

Pakistan keep their hopes of making it to the Super 8 stage alive by clinching their first win of T20 WC against Canada. Babar Azam and co. are still in a dangerous position and need to win the one remaining game – against Ireland – in order to fancy a chance.

However, both India and USA, who are on top of the table with four points each might be a hurdle in Pakistan’s way. The Men in Green will have to hope that either India or USA or both will lose their remainder of matches in order to proceed.
