Pakistan cricket team Test coach Jason Gillespie has cracked the whip on batters ahead of the PAK vs ENG series. A report of the former Australian pacer asking the players to ‘shut up’ has surfaced. Gillespie, who’s tenure as Pakistan coach started off on a losing note to Bangladesh, was reportedly miffed with the batters who were demanding flat pitches in Multan for the 1st Test.
When Gillespie ordered Pakistan batters to shut up
Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali shared an ‘inside story’ from the Pakistan dressing room, revealing the stern warning given by Gillespie. He claimed that the batters wanted to have a flat pitch and were asking for the grass on top to be cut. However. Gillespie and the groundsman who prepared the surface wanted the team to play on pitch as is, forcing the former to issue gag orders to the batters.
“I will give you an inside story. Jason Gillespie has handed a shut-up call to Pakistan batters. He wants the pitch to remain the same that has been prepared by the groundsman,” Basit Ali said.
