Pakistan’s best bowler in ICC Champions Trophy calls Virat Kohli his ‘childhood hero’

Kohli had scored his 4th ODI century against Pakistan, beating them convincingly and virtually ending their ICC Champion's Trophy campaign.

Pakistan cricket team’s best bowler in the ICC Champions Trophy, Abrar Ahmed, has lauded India cricket team’s batting superstar Virat Kohli. The leg-spinner had gone against the ODI great in the India vs. Pakistan match on March 23. Abrar bowled extremely well in the game, troubling Kohli and Shreyas Iyer. He’d also castled Shubman Gill with a gem of a delivery and was undoubtedly their best bowler of the match.

Although India beat Pakistan comfortably, Abrar was a handful. In the match that lasted 92.1 overs, Abrar’s performance was the positive thing for Pakistan. He ended up giving away just 28 runs in his quota of ten overs. After he finished his spell, Kohli shook hands with the 26-year-old spinner and gave him a tap on the back, appreciating his efforts.

Abrar Ahmed calls Virat Kohli his childhood hero

A week after the clash and Pakistan ending their ICC Champions Trophy, Abrar has appreciated the kind gesture for Kohli. In the post, capturing the moment when the former Indian skipper lauded him, Abrar hailed Kohli as his ‘childhood hero.’ He also mentioned how humble the batter is, despite having all the accolades in the world.

“Bowling to my childhood hero, Virat Kohli. Grateful for his appreciation—his greatness as a cricketer is only matched by his humility as a person. A true inspiration on and off the field!” Abrar Ahmed wrote on Instagram.
