The right-handed batter bid farewell to her young career to lead a more religious life following the teachings of Islam. Naseem made her debut in 2020, she swiftly made a name for herself in both T20Is and ODIs, showcasing her talent with the bat. Her aggressive playing style and ability to hit massive sixes had earned her a reputation as one of the most exciting players to watch in women’s cricket.
To note, she represented the Men in Green in four ODIs and 30 T20Is. Ayesha informed her decision to Pakistan Cricket Board on Thursday. “I’m leaving cricket and want to live my life according to Islam,” Naseem told PCB.
She scored 369 runs in 30 T20 games at an average of 18.45 and a strike rate of 128.12. In ODIs, she represented Pakistan in four matches and scored 33 runs. The Women in Green will be back in action with a six-match limited-over series against South Africa women at home starting on September 1 in Karachi and then will travel to New Zealand in December.
