On Wednesday, Babar Azam was at his elegant best once again. Although he started slowly, he never played a risky shot until the ball he was dismissed for. He kept the heat on the bowlers with nine boundaries, reaching his 17th ODI ton in 103 balls.
His hat-trick of centuries also put him miles above the rest. He became the first batter in ODI history to score hat-trick of centuries on two occasions. Even Virat Kohli does not have the record.
The 27-year-old Babar made two centuries against Australia before Wednesday’s match and also racked up three tons in a row in 2016, all against West Indies.
