Batting first Pakistan went on to register a fine 280-run knock against New Zealand with the series being leveled at 1-1. Top-order batter Fakhar Zaman played a fine century knock to help his side register a modest target. He was helped with other fine innings by Mohammad Rizwan (77) and Agha Khan’s 45-run knock.
Pakistan set a 281-run target for World No 1 NewZealand in the series decider. Fakhar Zaman was the hero with a fine century while Muhammad Rizwan slammed 77. Despite two early jolts, Zaman-Rizwan smashed a 154-run stand for 3rd wicket to steer Pakistan clear of danger. After Pakistan lost quick wickets in the middle-overs, Agha Salman took charge with a solid 45-run knock to take Pakistan to 280/9. Tim Southee bagged 3 wickets for the Kiwis.
The Kiwi pacers were on point with their supreme bowling performances. Tim Southee scalped 3 wickets while Lockie Fergusen bagged 2 wickets to destroy the Pakistani batter.
In their reply, NewZealand lost Finn Allen early, but Devon Conway and Kane Williamson slammed double half-centuries to pave the way for the Kiwi innings. Pakistan made a comeback in the game, but Glenn Phillips, down the order, slammed an unbeaten 63 to seal the win for the Kiwis.
