PAK vs NZ Highlights, 1st ODI: The 1st ODI of the 5-match ODI series between Pakistan and New Zealand was won by the home side pretty easily. Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman stroked an excellent century with the bat. The likes of Imam-ul-Haq, skipper Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan also made some decent contributions with the bat. Earlier in the match, the Kiwis managed to post 288/7 in their allotted 50 overs. For the visitors, senior batter Daryl Mitchell smashed a magnificent century with the bat. Young opener Will Young also batted well but could not reach the 100-run as he got out on 86 runs. For Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf scalped two wickets each.

The chase began on a very positive note for the hosts as Fakhar Zaman (117) and Imam-ul-Haq (60) added 124 runs for the first wicket in 21.2 overs when Imam was dismissed by Ish Sodhi. Skipper Babar Azam then added 90 runs for the 2nd wicket getting out for 49 and also became the second fastest Asian to cross 12000 international runs in the process.

Shan Masood was well set up by Adam Milne (2/60) and departed soon with 72 more runs to win in 74 balls. Fakhar Zaman continued his assault and got to his 9th ODI century and was the 4th man to depart when allrounder Rachin Ravindra snared him as his first ODI scalp.

Agha Salman couldn’t do much with the bat but Mohammad Rizwan stayed there till the end scoring an unbeaten 42 in 34 balls with 6 fours and a maximum and finished the game with 9 balls to spare with Mohammad Nawaz present at the other end.
