PAK vs NZ 1st T20I: Opening match finally abandoned after 2 deliveries

Pakistan will continue their preparations for the T20 World Cup 2024 as they take on New Zealand in a five-match series

Just as play was about to start, rains lashed. After a significant delay, officials decided on 5-over-per side match. While Shaheen Afridi started for Pakistan, the Tim Robinson and Tim Seifert walked in to bat. The first delivery was a leg bye going for 2 runs, Shaheen dismissed Tim Robinson with an inswinger. However, rains lashed again and the game had to be called off.

New Zealand won the toss and opted to bat first in the 1st PAK vs NZ T20I. The start of the game has been delayed owing to rains. Pakistan will continue their preparations for the T20 World Cup 2024 as they take on New Zealand in a five-match series starting from Thursday. Babar Azam returns as the side’s skipper after he replaced ex-skipper Shaheen Afridi after just one series. Coincidentally, Shaheen’s first and last series as skipper was also against the Kiwis earlier this year.
