In the age of social media, even the slightest of actions get highlighted. Now, apparently, the England cricket team has won hearts, ahead of the third PAK vs ENG Test, in Rawalpindi, even with the smallest of gestures. As per a report in Cricket Pakistan, after a group photo session, the players and the support staff made sure to pick up the chairs from the ground, and place them back in the stands.
This is in stark contrast with what the Pakistani team had managed to display, the other day at the same Rawalpindi ground. On Tuesday, after Pakistan’s training session, their Test team head coach Jason Gillespie was seen picking up the used plastic bottles from the training area. The team had also come under some criticism for that.
PAK vs ENG, 3rd Test
Both teams are locked at 1-1 in the series. It all started with England beating the hosts by an innings in the first Test. But the Shan Masood-led team made a stunning comeback, where Sajid Khan, and Noman Ali picked up 20 wickets, to keep the series alive. Now, the onus is on the hosts to keep the winning momentum going as they have announced the same playing XI from the second Test. England, meanwhile, have made two changes.
Pakistan Playing XI:
Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, Shan Masood (C), Kamran Ghulam, Saud Shakeel (VC), Mohammad Rizwan (WK), Salman Ali Agha, Aamir Jamal, Noman Ali, Sajid Khan, Zahid Mehmood.
England Playing XI:
Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes (C), Jamie Smith (WK), Gus Atkinson, Rehan Ahmed, Jack Leach, Shoaib Bashir.
