With Haris Rauf testing positive, the Pakistan camp now faces a big covid scare ahead of the important series against Australia. Haris last played the PSL 2022 final on Sunday. He was part of the Lahore Qalandars team that won the tournament after defeating Multan Sultans in the final.

After the final, the Lahore Qalandars team led by Shaheen Afridi went with the trophy to see their head coach and Director of Cricket Operation Aaqib Javed, who was in isolation at his hotel room. This gesture by the team was to pay tribute to their coach who has been instrumental in helping them win the title.

Haris Rauf is a regular in Pakistan’s white ball team. He has played 8 ODIs and 34 T20Is for the national team. He is yet to make his Test debut and has been called up to the Test team for the upcoming Test series. He was expected to make his debut in the first Test as he was one among the only three pacers including Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Wasim in the main squad.

Pakistan has now added pacer Naseem Shah to the squad, who was earlier named as a reserve for the series. With Haris Rauf and Shaheen Afridi currently in isolation, Naseem Shah is expected to feature in the playing XI along with Mohammad Wasim, who will make his Test debut if selected.

The three-match Test series will kickstart on March 4 in Rawalpindi. The second and the third Tests are scheduled to be played in Karachi from March 12 and in Lahore on March 21 respectively.
