The PAK vs AUS 2nd Test in Melbourne started in a brisk fashion, with an even-stevens battle between the bat and the ball dominating the first day’s play. Batting first, Australia finished the day at 187 for 3. Pakistan kept the Australian batting at bay with the help of their fiery pacers, with Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi leading Pakistan’s bowling performance. Speaking after the day’s play, Australian opener David Warned heaped praises on Pakistan’s bowling attack.

Playing in his last Test series, Warner found it difficult to get going against the experienced Pakistani bowlers. The day started with Warner surviving a scare when Shafique dropped him at second slip. Warner continued his innings, but did not look to comfortable.
Just before lunch, however, his good fortune ran out when he was caught at slip off a rash shot from part-time bowler Agha Salman. Babar Azam showed his class by clobbering Warner on a thick edge and sending him back to the hut.
“I don’t think it really matters about your pace if you’re putting the ball in the right areas. Pakistan bowled extremely well today. I was taken aback by how many overs Shaheen has bowled already. It was a long day for him. If you’re not bowling quick in Australia, you have to hit the right line & length to create something. These guys (Pakistan’s pacers) have been outstanding. Shaheen bowled well today with not a lot of luck,” Warner said after the day’s play.
