PAK beat ENG, 1st T20: Liam Livingstone’s century in vain as Pakistan defeats England by 31 runs – Pakistan defeated England in the first T20I to go 1-0 ahead in the 3-match series. Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Afridi, and Shadab Khan shined in the victory. England kept losing wickets at regular intervals in the massive run chase. Top-scorer Liam Livingstone slammed the fastest fifty and century for England in T20Is (17-ball, 41-ball respectively). He hit 103 off 43 balls with the help of 6 fours and 9 sixes much to the entertainment of the crowd.

Liam Livingstone’s 103 is the highest individual score for an England player in a home T20I surpassing Alex Hales’ 99 against West Indies in the last T20I hosted by Trent Bridge nine years.

Earlier, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan provided a great start to visitors with a hundred partnership. Mohammad Hafeez, Sohaib Maqsood, and Fakhar Zaman continued the onslaught as Pakistan registered their highest score in T20Is. They will now look to go 2-0 ahead and take an unassailable lead in the series.
