Pacer or spinner? Kuldeep Yadav’s googly breaks off stump, leaves Pooran embarrassed

Kuldeep Yadav made a superb comeback from an injury as he bamboozled Nicholas Pooran's stumps.

The Delhi Capitals camp was buzzing with Kuldeep Yadav’s electrifying return. Having missed crucial games, Kuldeep wasted no time in announcing his presence.

First, it was Marcus Stoinis who had to walk back, dismissed by the crafty spinner. But the bigger roar erupted on the very next delivery. Nicholas Pooran, LSG’s batting lynchpin, was facing his first ball. Kuldeep showed his guile and unleashed a magical googly to rip Pooran’s stumps.

While the ball didn’t turn viciously, it did enough to find its way to a massive gap between Pooran’s bat and pad and send him out for a golden duck. Upon his dismissal, the off-stump not only got disturbed but was broken.

Kuldeep wreaks havoc, takes 3 for 13 in his first three overs

Kuldeep Yadav’s immense talent was on show in Lucknow as he ripped apart the LSG batting order. He sent back both Stoinis and Pooran in his first over. To dig the hosts under even more pressure, the left-arm chinaman took the prized wicket of KL Rahul, who was looking set for a big score. In order to outfox the LSG skipper, Kuldeep bowled a flipper outside off-stump which got a thin edge of Rahul’s bat. DC skipper Rishabh Pant did the rest, holding on to a sharp catch behind the wicket.
