Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav failed yet again in his ODI outing. Batting against Bangladesh in the Super 4 clash of the ongoing Asia Cup, Surya managed to score 26 runs off 34 balls before being cleaned up by opposition skipper Shakib al Hasan. Meanwhile, the fans on social media expressed their frustration as Yadav failed once again in the 50-over format.
Suryakumar has just two fifties after 26 ODIs
Speaking about Surya’s numbers in 50-over format, the right-handed batter is still to get going. Surya has represented India in 26 ODI matches and has managed to amass just 511 runs including two fifties. However, he has a strike rate of above 100 and has been pro-active at the crease whenever he has came out to bat.
However, Surya missed out on a good opportunity to make a big score against Bangladesh on Friday. Coming to bat after India lost KL Rahul, the right-handed batter looked under control but was undone by a beauty from Shakib. After the fall of Suryakumar, Indian lower-order including Axar Patel and Shardul Thakur showed great resistance but Bangladesh went on to win the match in the final over of the encounter.
