Out of favour, Sunrisers Hyderabad star smashes century in SMAT final ahead of IPL 2024 Retention

Anmolpreet Singh scored a magnificent 113 off 61 balls and was ably complimented by MI batter Nehal Wadhera in SMAT final.

Sunrisers Hyderabad batter Anmolpreet Singh put an excellent display of batting in the final match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Batting first Punjab went on to amass 223 runs against Baroda in SMAT final. Anmolpreet Singh went on to become the first batter to score a century in the SMAT final. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians young star Nehal Wadhera also played a blazing knock of 61 runs in just 27 balls.

Put into bat first, Punjab lost Abhishek Sharma off the first ball of the match. Prabhsimran Singh also fell cheaply. But it was the Anmolpreet Singh show as he dazzled away to a spectacular hundred. He was ably supported by Mandeep Singh the skipper initially as he scored 32 off 23 balls in the 62-run stand for the third wicket.

Sunrisers Hyderabad batter scored a magnificent 113 off 61 balls and was ably complimented by MI batter Nehal Wadhera who scored 61* off 27 balls. The duo put on 138 for the fourth wicket and could be match winning. Lots of runs at the death overs as Punjab ended with 223/4 in 20 overs.
