The third edition of the KCA (Karnataka Cricket Association) Maharaja Trophy commenced with an authoritative knock by Bengaluru Blasters’ skipper Mayank Agarwal. The Indian international made a lightwork of the 117-run target that was set by Gulbarga Mystics in the first innings.
The ‘Mayank Agarwal’ show
There’s no denying that Mayank Agarwal is one of the most eye pleasing openers in India. Despite his concerns against the moving ball, he has a knack for dominating the bowlers right from the go. This was there to be seen against Gulbarga Mystics as well, against whom he lashed out six fours and a solitary six.
Agarwal’s strike rate read 162.07 which showcased how lethal was he with strike partner LR Chethan, who also smashed 53 off 34. The duo hammered 101 runs in just 65 runs together to give a huge boost to BB’s net run rate. Agarwal made an unbeaten 47 off 29 balls and also hit the winning runs.
