Ashwin’s all round prowess tames England
Rohit stood tall with a magnificent 161-run knock in the 1st innings that set the tone of the game. Rishabh Pant joined the party with his fourth straight Test fifty while the veteran Ajinkya Rahane quietly went about his business to amass 67 runs.
Ashwin wreaked havoc on England as they were bowled out for just 134 runs, with the Indian grabbing a five-wicket haul. He returned to score a patient 106-run knock, coming to bat at no.8 in the 2nd innings, helping India post 286 runs on board.
Axar Patel took five wickets in the second innings to spell doom for England. Ashwin wasn’t going to be left out of the party as he picked up 3 more wickets. India won the game by a mammoth margin of 317 runs as they levelled the series 1-1.
