On this day 13 years ago, the legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first player in the history of the game to score 50 Test centuries. This remarkable feat occurred on December 19, 2010, during the first Test against South Africa.

Sachin, then 37 years old, also surpassed the 14,500-run mark in red-ball cricket during this game at the SuperSport Park in Centurion. Tendulkar dedicated this record to his father, who had passed away in 1999.
