On this day in 2008, Anil Kumble reached a landmark milestone of 600 wickets in the Test between Australia and India at Perth

Australia all-rounder Andrew Symonds became India’s spin legend Anil Kumble’s 600th Test victim on this day in 2008. There were only two other spinners who had over 600 wickets at that time and there is no prize for the correct guesses – Muttiah Muralitharan and Shane Warne.

When Anil Kumble claimed Symonds as is 600th Test victim

Kumble’s 600th Test wicket came against Australia in Perth, with India going on to win the match by 72 runs. Symonds was trapped by Kumble for an lbw as he became victim number 600 for the legend. The spinner from Karnataka grabbed two wickets in each innings, helping India secure the victory.
