Not KL Rahul or any other batter, but only the rain can save the India Cricket Team from losing the IND vs AUS 3rd Test in Gabba. Day 1 saw just 13.2 overs being bowled. And then Day 3 was interrupted by rain yet again. And now come Day 4, the rain has again stopped the game from continuing.
While the players and fans would be unhappy, but the rain can be the only thing that can work in India’s favor. If it continues to rain, even in intervals it is good news for the India Cricket Team. The hosts suffered an exceptional batting collapse and the only way for this Test match to result in a draw would be the rain playing absolute spoilsport.
Gabba rain – a boon for India
Australia went on to amass a huge first innings total of 445 runs. In reply, the Indians fell like nine pins. India’s entire top order except KL Rahul faltered and departed. While the top 5 batters departed in single digits, Rohit Sharma was dispatched on Day 4 after scoring 10 runs.
But KL Rahul has stood firm slamming a fine fifty to take the task to the opposition. Even then, it just might not be enough. If India’s first innings is wrapped up early and the Aussies enforce a follow-on, India will have to spend 1.5 days batting – a huge task for this team.
In such a case, only the rain gods can save India. There are predictions of rain on Day 4 and much more on Day 5. And thus, not the Indian batters, but only the rain can help save India from the blushes in Gabba.
