Former Pakistan cricketer Ahmad Shazad has come up with a rather intriguing solution to host IND vs PAK matches in the future. His statement comes in the backdrop of India refusing to travel to Pakistan for Champions Trophy 2025 and a hybrid model being approved for the tournament. Shahzad put forth a very tall claim, suggesting that a stadium be built on the border of both countries to host the clash between the arch-rivals.
Ex-Pakistan star wants stadium at border to host IND vs PAK matches
Speaking on Nadir Ali’s podcast, Shahzad suggested that a stadium be built at the border to host IND vs PAK clashes. He claimed that one gate should face India and the other towards Pakistan and that the players will enter through their respective gates. Interestingly, India and Pakistan have agreed “in principle” to not send their teams to each others’ countires for any ICC tournaments over the next three years.
“When I did a podcast, I suggested the idea of building a stadium by the border. One gate would be towards India, the other gate would be towards Pakistan. The players would come from the respective gates and play,” Ahmad Shahzad said.

“But even then there would be issues for the BCCI and their government. When their players come to the field by our side, they would need visas which they would not get,” he added.
ICC okays hybrid model for Champions Trophy 2025
ICC approved a hybrid model for CT 2025, with the two locations being Pakistan and Dubai. The decision was arrived at after both the BCCI and PCB agreed on the suggestion. The Champions Trophy 2025 final will be held in Dubai if India qualify. Similarly, one of the semi-finals will be held in Dubai if India make it to the top four. This would mean that only one of the semi-final would be held in Pakistan if India qualifies for the other and the final would be shifted out of Pakistan.
