It is just unfortunate that only 15 players can be selected to any series that Team India plays in. And that means, some of the very best in the world even don’t get a chance to play for the country. Classic example is former World No. 1 in T20Is, Ravi Bishnoi, who missed the cut for the recent T20 World Cup in USA and West Indies, that India won. But if IND vs BAN third T20I is anything to go by, he will be a regular feature in the team, in the coming years.
On a flat Hyderabad pitch, where Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav took India to 297, Ravi Bishnoi was excellent when the opposition was going hammer and tongs. It is worth mentioning, that the Bangladeshi wicket-keeper had slammed five fours in Nitish Reddy’s previous over, but his partner Towhid Hridoy could not find an answer to the leg-spinner.
Ravi Bishnoi Shines With Ball in IND vs BAN, 3rd T20I
First, Bishnoi removed Najmul Shanto in his first over, and then completed a maiden over. That just shows the control with which he bowled, when the Bangladeshi bowlers went for over 14.8 runs/over. That over by Bishnoi not only slowed things down for Bangladesh, but also meant that a signal was sent to them, that they won’t be able to reach close to the Indian total.
Ravi Bishnoi has been excellent in whatever limited opportunities he has gotten for Team India. In 33 matches for the team, he has picked up 48 wickets, at an average of 18.96 only.
New Record for Bishnoi
The youngster did not stop there, and with his second scalp of the day, became the youngest to take 50 wickets in T20Is for India. He achieved the feat at 24y 37d, followed by Arshdeep Singh at 24y 196d. Jasprit Bumrah comes in next at 25y 80d, and Kuldeep Yadav at 28y 237d.
