“Oldest” James Anderson to enter IPL 2025 Auction, sets base price at Rs 1.25 crore

While James Anderson will be the oldest player to enter the IPL 2025 Auction, Vaibhav Suryavanshi will be the youngest at 14.

Well, the list is out. We have the names of all the 574 players who will go under the hammer at the IPL 2025 mega auction. While 12 players are on the ‘marquee list’, the oldest among all 574 players will be James Anderson. Yes, the modern-day great has been shortlisted and is amongst the 37 England players who have made the cut. Notably, Jofra Archer has missed out from the list.

James Anderson to enter IPL 2025?

The legendary pacer hung up his boots earlier this season. Everyone knows he’s the leading wicket-taking pacer in the history of Test cricket, having taken a record 704 wickets at an immaculate average of 26.45 in his illustrious career. However, while he is considered one of the greats in red-ball cricket, Anderson last played a T20 match a decade back.

The pacer, who’s slowly involving himself as a mentor/coach, stated that playing in the IPL will help further down the line. For those unaware, Anderson has previously tried to enter the league back in 2012 but failed to receive any bids. It wasn’t shocking then, as the pacer had stopped playing T20Is in 2009, with his focus entirely on Test cricket.
