New Zealand clinched a 281-run victory over South Africa in a one-sided NZ vs SA 1st Test. The visitors, who fielded six debutants, were no match for the Kiwis. Rachin Ravindra was named the Player of the Match for scoring his maiden double century.

It never looked possible for the inexperienced South Africa side to gain an upper hand in the game. New Zealand posted a strong 511 run total in the 1st innings, with Rachin and Williamson both scoring centuries. While the Kiwi skipper registered his 30th Test ton, Ravindra went on to score his maiden double century, ending his knock with 240 runs to his name.
In reply, South Africa were wiped out for just 162 runs. Matt Henry and Mitchell Santner picked up 3 wickets each as the Proteas were completely demolished.
Williamson went on to score another century in the 2nd innings as New Zealand declared after adding 179 runs to their lead. The Proteas needed a mammoth 538 runs to win the Test.
In South Africa’s second innings, David Bedingham was the only star as he managed to score 87 runs. Kyle Jamieson is the pick of the bowlers, finishing the game with figures of 4-58. Santner took three more wickets to finish with figures of 3-59.
