In the first game of the T20 Series, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 21 runs, getting off to a great start. Mohammed Rizwan once again delivered a brilliant performance, scoring 78 runs off just 50 deliveries as Pakistan gave a 168-run challenge to Bangladesh. Bangladesh’s response was merely 146/8. With the bowling, Mohammed Wasim excelled, taking 3 wickets for just 24 runs. Shakib al Hasan, Bangladesh’s captain, sat out the game. Instead of the regular captain, Nurul Hassan served as the team’s leader.
