Former Pakistan skipper Babar Azam continued his promising start to 2024 with a fighting half-century in the 2nd NZ vs PAK T20I in Hamilton. Azam led the side’s fightback en route to their run chase to a mammoth 195 run-target set by the Kiwis. Azam’s return to form might just be what the Men in Green will be craving for, with the preparations for the T20 World Cup 2024 having already begun.
NZ vs PAK 2nd T20I: Babar Azam’s scores consecutive 50s
The former skipper brought up his consecutive fifty against the Kiwis as the other batters collapsed. The latest fifty from Babar takes his tally to 32 half-centuries in T20Is. Azam was finally dismissed by Sears for 66 runs, with his knock studded with seven fours and two sixes.
Having lost both openers – Mohammad Rizwan and Saim Ayub – cheaply, Pakistan were off to poor start. Ish Sodhi, Adam Milne, Tim Southee and Ben Sears wreaked havoc on the middle-order batters, bringing Pakistan on their knees.
