New Zealand pacer Tim Southee had a farewell to remember. The veteran speedster had previously announced that he would be retiring from Tests. And his side gave him the perfect gift as the Kiwis thrashed England by 423 runs in Hamilton in the NZ vs ENG 3rd Test.
While England had already won the series by winning the first two Test matches, the third Test win was a consolation nonetheless. However, it was more importantly a sendoff for the retiring pacer. And now with this win, the Black Caps have gone on to take the 4th spot in the WTC Standings.
Tim Southee retires from Test Cricket
Previously, Tim Southee made it clear that he would retire from the longest format of the game at the completion of this series. He notched up an emphatic victory as England was bowled out for 234 in their second innings, thereby giving the hosts a mega 423-run victory.
Tim Southee has had a good career with the red ball. He featured for the Black Caps 107 times where he managed to scalp a whooping 391 wickets. He has been one of the greats in modern eras and boasts of having a decent average of 30.26.
The speedster had managed to rake up 15 fifers and a solitary 10-wicket haul in red ball cricket. His majority of scalps came on home soil where he bagged 234 wickets out of his 301 scalps.
