Courtesy of the win, Afghanistan sit pretty at the top of Group C with 4 points from two matches with a healthy net run rate courtesy of the easy win.
Afghan openers on song once again
New Zealand captain Kane Williamson won the toss and elected to field first. Afghanistan had a slow start to the game but their openers paced their innings according to the needs of the game.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran produced a 103-run partnership before the latter got out. Gurbaz, who has been in fine form in the T20 World Cup, scored his second successive half-century to help Afghans reach 159.

Rashid Khan proves too hot to handle for Kiwis
Chasing 160, New Zealand kept losing wickets at regular intervals as Afghan bowlers maintained fantastic discipline in their line and length. Pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi and skipper Rashid Khan took 4 wickets each while Mohammad Nabi grabbed the other two to ensure New Zealand were bundled out for 75 runs.
Rashid was particularly impressive, giving away just 16 runs in four overs. The Kiwis find it hard to pick Rashid, and gave away their wickets with ease.
