NZ beat ENG Highlights – Jimmy Neesham ‘Absolutely STUNNED’: Jimmy Neesham was one of the key protagnist on Wednesday as New Zealand pulled off a heist to beat favourites England in the semi-final. The all-rounder chipped in with a stunning 11-ball 27 to turn the game on its head before Daryl Mitchell took them over the line. Neesham was ‘Absolutely STUNNED’ with the victory. So STUNNED that as the Blackcaps jumped around in celebration after Mitchell’s winning runs, Neesham stayed rooted to his seat, soaking in the action that had unfolded in front of his eyes.

Neesham could not believe what had happened. According to a report by Fox Sports, Neesham kept sitting on the ground even after even team had left for the DRESSING Room for celebrations.

Jimmy Neesham had his redemption on Wednesday as the all-rounder played a crucial cameo that sent New Zealand to the T20 World Cup final at the expense of favourites England. In what was a repeat of the breath-taking 2019 World Cup final, Neesham came out on top this time around, having suffered agony just over two and a half years ago. He faced five of the legal six deliveries during the Super-Over that New Zealand tied, which handed England the title on boundary count. Soon after, Neesham fired off a tweet: “Kids, don’t take up sport. Take up baking or something. Die at 60 really fat and happy.”

Luckily for New Zealand, the all-rounder did not give up on sports and made his presence felt with a stunning cameo on Wednesday night in Abu Dhabi.

And when Daryl Mitchell finished the job with a boundary, Neesham coolly sat in his chair as his teammates and the coaching staff celebrated around him. He hardly smiled as he went around shaking hands with his teammates before returning back to his seat, and staying there long after the players had left for the dressing rooms.

Neesham saw his reaction to New Zealand’s win go viral, as social media reacted to the all-rounder’s heroics during the game. He replied to a tweet, suggesting that the celebrations were minimal from his end as the job wasn’t finished yet. Should New Zealand seal the T20 World Cup, it would be a sweet redemption for Neesham, Kane Williamson and Martin Guptill, while would make their second ICC title of the year, having lifted the World test Championship earlier in June.
