Shreyas Iyer to captain Mumbai in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy
As per Indian Express, the MCA senior selection committee has decided to name Shreyas Iyer as the captain for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. A source told the publication that Rahane, who is the team’s red-ball skipper, will play under Iyer’s captaincy. Additionally, India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav will also play under Shreyas Iyer, although he is set to miss a couple of games owing to personal reasons.
“Iyer will lead the Mumbai T20 side for Syed Mushtaq Ali and Shaw too has been included. Rahane will be playing under Iyer’s captaincy as MCA feels Iyer is the right choice for this format,” a source said.
