A decision has been made. The playoffs and the finals of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for season 10 will not be held in Pakistan. In stead, those match will be England. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the PSL team owners have finally reached upon a decision.
But that is not the end. The PSL sides have asked the board to look into matters regarding the financial standings. It is understood that the PSL sides are set to incur losses should the playoff and the final matches are not held in the country. The apex body of the country is understood to work on a plan to recover from the losses.
New Venues for PSL 2025?
Not just the planning for the playoff matches, there have been fresh discussions regarding the involvement of Peshawar and Quetta as new potential venues in the Pakistan Super League. Barely two weeks ago, Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi demanded to involve Peshawar as a new venue in the league.
Reports from Pakistan claim that discussion was also held on how the scheduling for PSL 2025 will be done. Earlier, the PSL team owners decided not to host the league at the same time frame of that of IPL 2025.
The PCB has also offered the teams to secure marquee players in the league for multiple years. Plans have been made that can see each side sign a player directly along with the marquee. Also, PSL 10 is likely to be the last year to see the tournament hosting 6 teams. There are talks to include 2 more teams from 2026.
