Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra asserted that Rohit Sharma would be the skipper for India for the T20 World Cup 2024. With the Hitman confirming that he intended to play T20s followed by being named for the series against AFG, it is pretty evident that the veteran would be a part of the side’s squad for the marquee tournament.
‘Rohit Sharma will be the captain’
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Chopra opined that Sharma would continue to lead the side, even if Hardik Pandya makes his comeback. Pandya was named India’s T20I skipper before he bowed out owing to injury. Chopra claimed that the ‘grand selection’ for the AFG series ensured that Sharma would lead the side in the T20 World Cup.
He asserted that Rohit would be the captain if he was in the team and that he will continue to be the skipper despite an injured Hardik Pandya making a comeback.
