‘Not happy you took on a fellow countryman..’: Nandre Burger taunts Riyan Parag in fun chat after RR’s win

Nandre Burger thanked Parag for his innings and also took a dig at the batter for taking a fellow countryman on. Parag scored 25 runs off the last over bowled by South Africa's Anrich Nortje.

Rajasthan Royals stars Riyan Parag and Nandre Burger on Thursday engaged in a fun chat after the IPL 2024 match against Delhi Capitals. The Indian and the South African duo starred for the Rajasthan outfit. Riyan Parag scored his 3rd half-century of IPL, being not out at 84 of 45 balls. Defending 185 runs, Nandre Burger picked up two crucial wickets as he produced a good spell.

The duo lined up for a chat after the match where they talked about their performance. On being asked regarding his feelings on being in IPL, Nandre Burger said, “It’s been really good, exciting. The crowds are good, learning a bit about the culture too.”

Riyan Parag asked Burger, “Excellent spell today. Which one was your favourite? Clean bowled or the bouncer?

Definitely the clean bowled. It’s always nice to hit the stumps and the lights are cool when you see the lights flicking,” Burger said.

Nandre Burger thanked Parag for his innings and also took a dig at the batter for taking a fellow countryman on. Parag scored 25 runs off the last over bowled by Anrich Nortje.

Thanks for batting so well, you gave me the chance to bowl. Without you, I wouldn’t have had the chance. Not happy you took on a fellow countryman on but glad that you’re in my team,” Burger said.

Riyan Parag also talked about his innings. It was Riyan Parag’s highest score in IPL.

That knock felt good. This is my 6th year, been here since I was 17. This is my highest score so pretty pleased and that last over, I was planning it. So lovely when a plan comes through,” Parag said.

They also discussed Nandre Burger’s hairdo, terming it as the ‘Holi special’ haircut. Burger has streaks of pink in his hair, leading to the fun banter.
