Surprisingly it is not Chris Gayle or AB de Villiers but India’s very own Rohit Sharma. Gambhir went on to claim that the only batsman he every feared in the Indian Premier League (IPL) is Rohit Sharma.

Gautam Gambhir guided Kolkata Knight Riders to 2 IPL titles. After his stint with Lucknow Super Giants, Gambhir is now back with KKR as their mentor.

“Only player who gave me sleepless nights. Not Chris Gayle, No AB de Villiers, No one, only Rohit Sharma. I knew I had to had Plan A, Plan B and Plan C ready as well. If Rohit is in, no can control him,” Gautam Gambhir told Star Sports.

Not just in International Cricket, Rohit Sharma has been a tremendous batter for Mumbai Indians in the IPL. Rohit has guided MI to win 5 IPL titles over the years. Moreover, Rohit’s stats in IPL is a testament to his greatness.

“The only batsman I feared in IPL is Rohit Sharma. I have never planned for any batter in IPL except Rohit Sharma. With Rohit, one night before a match I used to think if this plan doesn’t work, I have to get the other plan. If Sunil (Narine) bowls his four overs early who is going to bowl the other 16 overs. Rohit can hit 30 off one over as well,” Gambhir concluded.
