Not easy: Newly appointed captain Shubman Gill rues injuries for poor performance ahead of RR vs GT

Ahead of the RR vs GT, Shubman Gill won the toss and chose to bowl first

Gujarat Titans will aim for a win as they take on Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur. Under new captain Shubman Gill, GT has had a mixed start to the IPL 2024 season. However, injury has added to the woes of the young captain. Ahead of the RR vs GT game, Captain Gill relayed the same.

Winning the toss, Shubman Gill who chose to bowl first, reflected on the injuries and how they have played a role in GT’s subpar performances early in the season.

“Not easy to set up a playing XI when your main players are injured. A couple of changes – Matthew Wade comes in for Kane. Manohar comes in for Sharath. In the past couple of games, we were in a brilliant position. It’s just about finishing the crunch situations. The batting part is easy. When I’m batting I don’t think about captaincy. While being captain, you want to give players confidence.” said Gill.
