Dhruv Jurel and Kuldeep Yadav’s resilient knock will be remembered by cricket fans for a long time. While India’s entire batting order crumbled, the duo took the charge on themselves. Kuldeep batted well, adding crucial 28 runs. But it was Dhruv Jurel who was the star of the show. He managed to score 90 runs but is not at all unhappy for missing his maiden Test ton.
Playing only his second Test and his second innings, Jurel was put to the task from the very beginning. Jurel and Kuldeep remained unbeaten on Day 2. They continued to pose a big threat for England in the first session on Day 3 of the IND vs ENG Ranchi Test.
“Both me and Kuldeep come from UP, so understanding is there. Was helpful. I am not at all disappointed to miss the hundred, want the team to lift the trophy,” said Dhruv Jurel at the post day press conference.
The youngster revealed how there is a good understanding between him and Kuldeep Yadav since they both hail from Uttar Pradesh. It is only natural that the duo will have good coordination after playing domestic cricket together.
Jurel further revealed that he was not at all disappointed on missing out on the opportunity to score his maiden Test ton. In the previous Test in the first innings, he managed 46 and narrowly missed his Test fifty. Come the next Test, he missed a century. But that is surely not damning his spirits. Jurel believes that he can score more runs for his country in the coming matches.
