Nitish Kumar Reddy etched himself into the history books and made Day 3 of the ongoing Boxing Day Test match his own. The youngster claimed a match-changing century and is still unbeaten at 105 along with Mohammed Siraj. Notably, both Nitish and Siraj would enter the crease half an hour early tomorrow, with Day 4 of the Boxing Day Test scheduled to start at 4:30 am IST.
Why an early start on Day 4 of IND vs AUS Boxing Day Test?
The entire Day 3 ebbed and flowed, with the Australian team fielding for the whole day. Rishabh Pant got out while playing a fancy ramp, and Jadeja was undone by Nathan Lyon. But then came a match-changing partnership between Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar. However, rain forced it’s way into the game when the duo was forging their stand. Moreover, we had an early stumps as bad light stopped play. All in all, fans got to witness only 70 overs of play in the entire play on Day 3. Hence, the officials have made a great decision to have an early start on Day 4 to make up overs.
As for the Indian fans, the timings could be a little hindering, as 4:30 am IST is way too early. But the true cricket admirers know the worth and hype the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) brings.
