Non-bailable warrant issued against former Indian pacer over cheque bounce case

Former Indian cricketer Prashant Vaidya on Wednesday was slapped with a non-bailable warrant by the Bajaj Nagar Police in connection to an old check bounce case. Despite several notices sent for his appearance in court, there was no response from Vaidya, leading the court to issue a warrant against him.

Vaidya was produced in the court after being brought to the Police Station for the completion of Non-Bailable Warrant, according to a statement by Senior inspector Vithal Singh Rajput

“We had recorded the execution of the NBW in our station house diary after taking Vaidya in custody. The legal formalities were duly completed,” said Rajput adding the case was a civil matter related to clearance of cheque.

Vaidya is a former cricketer who featured for the Indian team, although for a shortwhile. Talking about the career of Prashant Vaidya, he has represented the Indian team in 4 ODIs, taking 4 wickets at an economy rate of 5.67. While batting, he has scored 15 runs.
