No Zimbabwe tour for Babar Azam as Pakistan announce squad for T20Is, ODIs vs AUS, ZIM

Babar Azam will play both ODIs and T20Is against Australia but has been rested for the tour to Zimbabwe as Pakistan's squad for the upcoming tours was announced

Babar Azam has been named in Pakistan’s ODI and T20I squad for the series against Australia but has been rested for the tour to Zimbabwe. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the squads for PAK vs AUS and PAK vs ZIM series comprising of members picked in a complicated rotation policy for selections. Like Babar, Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah have also been included for the series Down Under but not against Zimbabwe.

No Zimbabwe tour for Babar Azam

Babar Azam will be sad to miss out on the tour to Zimbabwe, considering it would have been a good series for him to get some runs under his belt. He has two hundreds & 459 ODI runs, and three half-centuries & 232 runs against ZIM, enjoying enormous success. However, Babar Azam will now have to prove his mettle in the series against Australia, that too in their own backyard. His form hasn’t been that great, given that he smashed his last ton in both T20Is and ODIs in 2023.
