The third edition of the SA20 league will get underway from January 9, 2025, League Commissioner Graeme Smith announced. The month-long league will conclude on February 8, days before the Champions Trophy, which is set to be hosted by Pakistan.
With SA20 occupying the January-February window, Pakistan Super League is left with no other option but to clash with IPL 2025, a move that could prove to be fatal for the former owing to player unavailability and their commitments to IPL franchises.

“Following two successful seasons, our plan is to continue to own the South African summer and provide an opportunity for everyone to enjoy some of the biggest names in world cricket, whether in packed stadiums or via the global broadcast,” he said.
“Our fixtures, auction, and player announcements will be revealed over the coming months and planning is already fully in motion. We can’t wait to bring another incredible sport and entertainment event to life for players and fans,” Smith stated.

When will PSL 2025 take place?
PSL, which is usually held in February and March, has already announced that they’ll host the tournament from April 12 to May 20 in Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi.
The league stage is expected to end on May 10, and there will be a four-day rest (May 11 to May 14). The playoffs will be played at neutral venues. Qualifier I on May 15, Eliminator on May 16, Qualifier II on May 18, and the final on May 20.
