No Akram, Ponting & Morgan in ICC’s star-studded World Cup commentary panel

Wasim Akram and Aakash Chopra miss out as Dinesh Karthik makes his debut in ICC World Cup as a commentator.

There will be no Wasim Akram behind the mic at the ICC ODI World Cup. Even though he was part of the commentary panel at the Asia Cup, he misses out. Instead, his pace partner Waqar Younis and teammate Ramiz Raja will be from Pakistan. The distinguished World Cup commentary panel will also include three-time WC winner Ricky Ponting and Eoin Morgan, who led England to the 2019 WC title. From India, Sunil Gavaskar will be joined by the iconic voice of Ravi Shastri and Harsha Bhogle apart from Dinesh Karthik.

ICC’s match coverage will include a pre-match show, mid-innings programme and a post-match wrap-up. A distinguished commentary panel featuring cricketing legends will provide insights and analysis that bring fans closer to the game than ever before.
