Not only on the field, but Harmanpreet Kaur comes across as a true leader, icon, and inspirational figure off the field as well. The proof of that was evidenced when the Times’s list of 100 leaders included her name. Kaur outshined the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul. Of the 100 inspiring leaders across the globe, Kaur is the only Indian cricketer to be featured.
The Indian women’s team captain’s name comes under the Innovators category in the Time100 list. In the list, Kaur is among other great names like Angel Reese, Metro Boomin, Kate Ryder, Mira Murati, & James Maynard, to name a few. Speaking about Kaur, since taking the leadership mantle she has managed to take the Indian team to great heights.
Under Kuar’s inspiring leadership, India have managed to reach the finals of the CWG Games in 2022 and the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup in 2023. Kaur also went on to lead Mumbai Indians in the first-ever full season of Women’s Premier League this year. The team India all-rounder will again be at the forefront during Asian Games later this month.

India Women’s Team will next be seen in the Asian Games starting from September 21. Kaur will be leading a strong side, which sees the likes of Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, Yastika Bhatia, and Richa Ghosh. There is a nice blend of youth and experience in the team. Over the past two years, Kuar & Co have been performing well in ICC events, but the elusive title has eluded team India.
In the Asian Games, the team will look to finally end the trophy drought. India will play directly from the quarter-finals of the Asian Games owing to finishing higher in the ICC Women’s T20I Rankings.
